Al Ghurair and Mitsubishi Chemical Infratec Open Alpolic Facility in RAK.

Al Ghurair, one of the UAE's most diverse family business groups, and Mitsubishi Chemical Infratec Co (MCIT) have established AG Metal Industries (AGMI), an Alpolic production plant, in the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ).

The facility was launched with the presence and sponsorship of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

The initiative is a landmark agreement that expands the two firms' long-standing collaboration. When manufacturing begins, AGMI is expected to be the first facility of its sort outside of the Alpolic brand's direct control.

The collaboration builds on the firms' 50-year-old successful connection. Al Ghurair has been the exclusive distributor of various Mitsubishi Group products in the UAE, including a partnership between Al Ghurair and Mitsubishi Electric Elevators, and is an Authorised Partner for Climaveneta air conditioning units from Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics and IT Cooling System. Since 1993, Al Ghurair has also had exclusive distribution rights for Alpolic, generating an impressive track record of high-quality projects via a collaborative "sell and build" strategy.

Recognising the changing demands of the construction sector, Al Ghurair intends to create AGMI as an Alpolic Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) with distribution rights across the UAE.

RAKEZ's modern factory produces 4 million sq m of aluminum composite panels, 17,000 million tonnes of coated coils, and 1 million sq m of fire-retardant core per year.

These high-quality materials will be used in construction and infrastructure projects across the globe, making buildings safer for residents, businesses, and the general public.
