Axalta, a prominent global coatings company, has announced a partnership with CESVIMAP R&D Centre, renowned for its advancements in the collision repair industry. This collaboration will enable Axalta’s refinish customers to participate in CESVIMAP’s Move2Green sustainability program. This program features an online self-assessment questionnaire designed to evaluate the environmental impact of bodyshops. Following analysis by an auditor, Axalta customers will receive a comprehensive roadmap outlining actionable measures to enhance their sustainability efforts. Additionally, they will attain Move2Green certification, underscoring their dedication to reducing environmental impact.

As a key partner in CESVIMAP's Move2Green program, Axalta, a global leader in refinish paint manufacturing, continues to champion sustainability through its BELEAF initiative. CESVIMAP assesses bodyshops across various sustainability criteria such as energy efficiency, water management, waste reduction, responsible consumption, carbon footprint, sustainable transportation, and overall sustainable practices. They provide detailed action plans to promote the adoption of sustainable business strategies.

One effective measure is the use of Axalta's Fast Cure Low Energy (FCLE) refinish system, which significantly reduces electricity consumption by up to 49% and cuts carbon emissions by up to 54% compared to competing systems. This adoption not only enhances sustainability efforts but also positively impacts the operational efficiency and business model of bodyshops.

“We are thrilled to partner with CESVIMAP and the Move2Green program,” said Troy Weaver, President of Global Refinish at Axalta. “This partnership reaffirms our commitment to providing our customers a smarter way to refinish by offering access to resources that evaluate and improve the sustainability of their business.”

CESVIMAP, MAPFRE's Road Safety and Experimentation Centre, specializes in technological research aimed at lowering accident rates, refining repair processes for greater efficiency, reducing costs, and innovating new products. Sustainability is a central focus at CESVIMAP, driving transformations in business models and creating value propositions that enhance outcomes for vehicle manufacturers, insurance firms, mobility providers, and after-sales service providers within the automotive sector.

Initially launching in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, the partnership will extend to Axalta customers in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Benelux, with future expansion plans into other countries. Axalta is dedicated to supporting its customers in achieving sustainability objectives while enhancing their business success. This commitment includes offering eco-friendly products like Axalta’s patented Fast Cure Low Energy technology, innovative tools such as the fully automated mixing machine Axalta Irus Mix, and valuable resources like Axalta Drivus consultancy services.
