BASF will raise the price of NEOL® (Neopentylglycol, NPG) in the United States and Canada across all grades and packaging. The adjustment is primarily driven by increases in raw material costs.
Price Increase:
Neopentylglycol (NEOL®/NPG): $0.07/lb | $155/mt
Neopentylglycol (NPG) is a high-performance polyalcohol with superior chemical and thermal stability compared to other polyalcohols. It is widely used as a building block for polyester and alkyd resins in various coatings and plastics. NPG is particularly essential in powder coatings, which are extensively applied in the construction sector and for coating household appliances.
Additional applications of NPG include the production of lubricants, plasticisers, and pharmaceuticals, where it serves as a building block for products such as hormones, cardiovascular drugs, and painkillers. BASF markets NPG under the NEOL® brand.
NEOL® is a registered trademark of BASF Corporation.
