BASF Inaugurates Advanced Application and Technical Center for Automotive Coatings in China

BASF has inaugurated a new Application and Technical Center for Automotive Coatings in Jiangmen, China. Situated within BASF Coatings' (BCG) site, this center represents a significant milestone in the ongoing expansion of BASF Coatings' global refinish technology network.

The BCG manufacturing facility provides a diverse range of refinish coatings products, catering to premium, cost-effective, and commercial transportation needs.

BCG has been at the forefront of driving innovation and sustainability in the automotive coatings industry across the Asia Pacific region. Notably, they have played a crucial role in introducing a comprehensive lineup of waterborne solutions, including the Norbin® 66 waterborne basecoat and Glasurit® waterborne clearcoats.

The Application and Technical Center will play a pivotal role in advancing innovation within the coatings industry. It is designed to replicate customer environments using real-world equipment and conditions. As a notable first for BCG, the facility features two extensive combination spray booths and a comprehensive array of equipment for product development, encompassing the entire process—from sanding and mixing to detailing and measurement.
