Beckers Group, through its joint venture Berger-Becker Coatings, has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art resin manufacturing facility in Nagpur, India, strengthening its production capabilities and supporting the development of sustainable coating technologies. The plant was officially opened on 28 May 2026 by Fabio Pedrazzi, CEO of Lindéngruppen.
“This facility reflects our ambition to lead the industry – not only in volumes, but in innovation, sustainability and customer value,” said Eric Fouissac, President Asia & Middle East at Beckers Group. “India is a critical pillar of our global growth strategy, and this project demonstrates our long-term commitment to the region.”
The new facility forms part of Beckers Group’s long-term strategy to expand manufacturing capacity, improve supply chain resilience, and support growing global demand for advanced coating solutions. Commercial production is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with annual polyester resin capacity expected to reach around 9,000 metric tons. The company also plans to increase capacity further in the future.
Equipped with next-generation automation, advanced safety systems, and environmental controls, the Nagpur plant is designed to enhance Beckers Group’s global operations while strengthening Berger-Becker Coatings’ position in the Indian market. India remains one of Beckers’ fastest-growing regions, supported by rising demand from the construction, appliances, and infrastructure sectors. High-performance resins are a key component in coil coatings, providing durability, corrosion resistance, and weather protection.
The facility will manufacture resins containing renewable and recycled materials, including recycled PET, Wet IPA, and other alternative feedstocks. These products are intended to support more circular material flows, improve resource efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions compared with conventional petrochemical-based resins. Renewable raw materials are expected to account for around 5–10% of the plant’s feedstock during the initial phase.
“The new plant will enhance our ability to meet increasing customer demand, strengthen our supply chain independence, and introduce advanced resin technologies tailored for the Indian market We extend a special thank you to our partner, Berger Paints, for their exceptional support throughout the project,” says Rajesh Mehrotra, Managing Director at Berger-Becker Coatings.
