Evonik Industries has expanded its epoxy curing agent portfolio with the introduction of Ancamine 2875, a modified polyamine designed for ultrafast curing, enhanced moisture vapor barrier properties, and strong adhesion to cold and damp concrete surfaces. This launch further strengthens the company’s focus on delivering high-performance solutions for demanding flooring applications.
Ancamine 2875 offers a unique balance of ultrafast curing and extended working time—two characteristics that are typically challenging to achieve together. Additionally, its advanced formulation removes the need for hazardous alkylphenol accelerators, enabling an ultra-low-emission system that improves worker safety while supporting environmentally responsible flooring solutions.
In addition, the product provides excellent moisture vapor barrier performance and meets ASTM F3010 certification requirements, making it highly effective in limiting moisture vapor transmission through concrete floors and minimizing the risk of expensive flooring failures.
As part of Evonik Industries’s broader moisture vapor barrier portfolio, Ancamine 2875 is designed for applications where low emissions, rapid curing, and improved labeling compliance are essential. The product performs efficiently across a wide range of use levels and is compatible with standard diluted liquid epoxy resins, providing formulators with greater flexibility and a cost-effective alternative to higher-priced Bisphenol F-based systems.
“With Ancamine® 2875, customers can achieve moisture vapor barrier performance of less than 0.1 perms at coating thicknesses as low as 12 mils, as demonstrated by ASTM E-96 testing,” said Dr. Shiying Zheng, Applied Technology Director for Evonik Crosslinkers. “This innovation delivers both performance and value, making it an ideal solution for modern flooring systems.”
