Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has successfully completed the acquisition of Venator Chemicals France SAS, Venator International France SAS, and Venator Pigments France SAS (collectively referred to as “Venator Pigments France”) from Venator France SAS. This acquisition strengthens Mutares’ newly established Chemicals & Materials segment, adding a robust new platform to its portfolio.
Venator Pigments France is a leading European manufacturer of ultramarine blue, violet, and pink pigments, catering to a wide range of industries including plastics, cosmetics, paints & coatings, building materials, and artistic applications. Based in Comines, France, near the Belgian border, the site boasts nearly a century of industrial expertise and generates annual revenues of around €35 million with a workforce of approximately 110 employees. The company holds a strong market position—ranking second globally in technical-grade ultramarine pigments—and maintains long-term relationships with major customers and distributors across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
For Mutares, this acquisition marks an important milestone in expanding its Chemicals & Materials segment, following the earlier agreement to acquire SABIC ETP business. The transaction is expected to create strong synergies and open up significant growth opportunities within the group.
