PPG Expands Capacity of Its Industrial Coatings Plant in Vietnam
PPG announced the completion of upgrades that have expanded the capacity of its Yen Phong industrial coatings plant in Bắc Ninh province, Vietnam. The upgrades include a new manufacturing line devoted to PPG AQUACRON aqueous decorative and functional coatings for consumer electronics, as well as cutting-edge testing equipment and automated spray booths.
The expanded factory, which now has six manufacturing lines, seeks to minimize turnaround times, speed coatings development, and provide more access to PPG's technical and customer support. This investment demonstrates PPG's commitment to the area and its support for the rising demand for more sustainable products from Southeast Asia's major consumer electronics companies.
“As a trusted supplier to global leading consumer electronics OEMs, PPG delivers next-generation solutions that not only enhance the durability, design and functionality of their products, but also helps these industry partners reduce their carbon footprints with coatings made with little to no solvents,” said Irene Tasi, PPG senior vice president, Industrial Coatings.
In addition to PPG Aquacron coatings, the factory manufactures PPG SPECTRACRON liquid coatings for transportation applications, PPG DURANAR coil and extrusion coatings for architectural and construction items, and RAYCRON UV-curable coatings for electronics.
"This investment represents another important step forward in our commitment to create innovative, sustainable products that protect and enhance our communities around the world," said Le Dong Lam, PPG's general manager for Southeast Asia, Industrial Coatings, and country manager in Vietnam.
Customers in the area may also take advantage of the PPG SECURE LAUNCH EXCELLENCE program, which aims to incorporate new coating technologies and colors into customers' production processes. The approach assures that new solutions will operate on the first application and match the precise client requirements.
PPG's commitment to sustainable goods is reflected in its expanding line of aqueous, powder, and energy curable coatings. By 2030, the firm hopes to have 50% of its revenues coming from sustainably advantaged goods.
