Renner Coatings acquires Mekal Tintas to strengthen industrial coatings business in Brazil

Renner Coatings, a division of the Renner Herrmann SA Group, has acquired the operations of Brazil-based industrial paint manufacturer Mekal Tintas. Headquartered in Curitiba, Renner Coatings specializes in high-performance industrial, maintenance and marine coatings, while Mekal has over 40 years of experience in manufacturing high-performance liquid and powder industrial coatings. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition strengthens Renner Coatings' presence in Rio Grande do Sul, particularly in the northern region, which is home to one of Brazil's largest agricultural machinery and equipment manufacturing hubs. Mekal will adopt the White Horse brand and gain access to Renner Coatings' broader portfolio of advanced coating technologies, while continuing to build on its strong reputation for product quality and customer service.

The deal is part of Renner Coatings' broader growth strategy, following the establishment of a manufacturing facility in Chile in 2020, the opening of a plant in Peru in 2022, and the acquisition of FlexTintas – Powder Coatings in São Paulo in 2024. The latest acquisition further expands the company's market presence and aligns with the ongoing consolidation of the coatings industry in Brazil and globally.
