Saint-Gobain Completes Acquisition of Xypex, a North American Leader in High-Value Waterproofing Solutions

Saint-Gobain has completed its acquisition of Vancouver-based Xypex, a global leader in crystalline waterproofing admixtures and coatings.
Xypex is a leading brand in crystalline waterproofing solutions, serving customers in more than 100 countries and expected to generate sales of C$110 million in 2026. The company holds strong positions in infrastructure and specification-driven construction markets across North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe.
Announced on July 6, 2026, the acquisition strengthens Saint-Gobain’s construction chemicals platform by adding a highly differentiated technology that complements its existing waterproofing portfolio. This portfolio includes membranes such as GCP Preprufe and Fosroc Proofex and liquid-applied systems including Stirling Lloyd Eliminator and GCP Silcor, as well as injection and repair solutions.
Crystalline waterproofing improves the durability and service life of concrete structures, reducing long-term maintenance requirements. It can be used independently or alongside membrane systems to provide enhanced protection.
