Siegwerk is expanding its presence in the United States and Canada through targeted investments aimed at increasing production capacity, improving operational efficiency and strengthening sustainable infrastructure.

The investments highlight the growing strategic importance of the North American market within Siegwerk’s global growth strategy. As part of its FORMULA 2030 strategic agenda, the company is also investing in the modernization and expansion of its global production network to strengthen competitiveness and deliver long-term value to customers.

“FORMULA 2030 is about translating our global strategic direction into concrete regional initiatives that create value for our customers and strengthen our business over the long term,” said Christopher van Laack, President Americas and Group Executive Member at Siegwerk. “By further expanding our regional production network and technology capabilities, we are creating an even more resilient supply base for our customers across the United States and Canada.”

Siegwerk is strengthening its operations in the United States through investments focused on expanding production capacity, increasing flexibility and enhancing operational resilience.

At its Des Moines, Iowa, site, the company is undertaking several projects to increase capacity and improve efficiency. These include modernizing milling and blending equipment and installing new white and color production systems. The new systems will enable highly efficient inline batch production, providing greater operational flexibility and helping Siegwerk respond reliably to changing customer requirements and future growth.

The company also broke ground on a new warehouse in early June. The facility will add storage capacity, primarily supporting the site’s solvent-based operations and helping meet growing demand for flexible packaging solutions. In addition, the warehouse has been designed to provide flexibility for potential future expansion as market requirements evolve.

“With these investments, we strengthen our ability to deliver the quality, reliability and responsiveness our customers expect,” said Jarred Carter, BU Head Flexible Packaging CUSA at Siegwerk. At the same time, the new assets not only increase our operational flexibility today, but also provide the capacity needed to support our customers’ growth in the future.”

At its Morganton, North Carolina, site, Siegwerk is expanding its technology capabilities with the addition of water-based and UV-based inkjet production, with completion scheduled for 2026. The investment will broaden the company’s capabilities in one of the packaging industry’s fastest-growing technologies.

Siegwerk is also investing in new milling and blending equipment to further strengthen its Narrow Web portfolio in the region. In addition, the site will install solar panels funded through Siegwerk’s Green Fund, enabling the facility to partially power its operations with renewable energy while supplying clean electricity to the local grid. Further facility and IT upgrades will improve operational efficiency and enhance customer support.

“Our customers expect solutions that combine performance, efficiency and a credible sustainability perspective,” said Todd Blumsack, BU Head Narrow Web CUSA at Siegwerk. “The investments in Morganton reflect exactly that balance.”

Overall, Siegwerk’s latest investments in the United States and Canada demonstrate the company’s efforts to translate its global FORMULA 2030 strategy into targeted regional initiatives. The investments address evolving market conditions, customer needs and regulatory requirements while focusing on capacity expansion, operational efficiency and sustainable infrastructure. Through these measures, Siegwerk aims to strengthen its long-term competitiveness, create greater value for customers and reinforce its position as a reliable partner for future-ready printing solutions.
