AkzoNobel is currently reviewing its portfolio with the aim of reallocating capital to strengthen its core coatings businesses. The company’s initial focus will be on its decorative paints segment in South Asia, where it holds a premium, highly profitable position, especially in India. With a proven track record of growth in this dynamic market, AkzoNobel is well-positioned to capitalize on further development and market consolidation in the region.

The review will consider a range of strategic options, including partnerships, joint ventures, mergers, or even divestments.

Says AkzoNobel CEO, Greg Poux-Guillaume: “Our focus on enhancing our coatings businesses globally is underpinned by a strong portfolio of high-performing brands and technologies. This strategic review represents a key step towards focusing our portfolio on positions of differentiating scale in key coatings markets, which will help to accelerate our profitable growth.
