The increase in environmental awareness and promotion of the low-VOC concept at national levels resulted in water-based products occupying the dominant share with almost 84% of the total market in 2025.
More than half of the global architectural water-based market consists of styrene-acrylic, vinyl and vinyl acetate technologies, having gained their position given their low cost. On the solvent-based side, alkyds dominate the market.
