HEMPEL Launches Silicone Hull Paint Recharger for Underwater Yachts
Hempel A/S has unveiled the world’s first and only underwater performance recharger designed exclusively for its silicone systems for yachts. Applied over an existing Hempel silicone finish during scheduled maintenance, Hempel’s Infinity enhances the hull coating's silicone performance, extending it for an additional season. This innovative solution eliminates the need for repainting, reducing effort, overall costs, and paint usage while maximizing time spent on the water.
“Hempel’s Infinity is our most significant innovation in the Yacht sector since the launch of Hempel’s Silic One back in 2012,” says Thomas Olsen, Marketing Director - Yacht at Hempel A/S. “It has been designed with boat owners’ time and money in mind, enabling them to maintain performance excellence year after year, in a more sustainable way. I am excited to introduce this ground-breaking innovation and look forward to following its success and impact in the market.”
Hempel’s Infinity offers a straightforward application process with no need for sanding, masking, or painting. The underwater area simply needs to be clean and dry before the product is applied across the entire surface. After a minimum activation period of 24 hours, the coating is rinsed off with fresh water, preparing the yacht for a new sailing season in half the time required for traditional antifouling applications.
Hempel’s Infinity features patented technology designed to recharge the hydrogel in Hempel’s silicone systems for the yacht market. Available in a 2.4-liter size, it is ideal for both DIY enthusiasts and professionals within the EU, with availability in North America planned for the near future.
