Indestructible Paint’s research chemists are leading the development of more sustainable, chrome-free coatings designed for demanding aerospace applications. In Japan, the company’s long-standing distributor, TODO, is addressing the rising demand for environmentally responsible products that maintain high performance standards.
The company’s ongoing R&D efforts support upcoming changes to the UK and EU REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals) legislation. Recent innovations include the introduction of chrome-free primers, sacrificial coatings (CFIpcote), and diffusion coatings (CFIPAL).
Although the transition to chrome-free products is vital, it remains gradual, as aerospace and industrial turbine manufacturers conduct extensive testing for each application. To support this shift, Indestructible Paint and TODO continue to supply existing chrome-containing base and seal coatings, ensuring customers in the Far East can maintain operations while completing qualification and compliance processes.
John Bourke, global sales manager at Indestructible Paint said: “Our products are sold into 110 countries around the world and we’re committed to developing sustainable products and tailoring these to local regulatory requirements and to customers’ needs.
