Solera, a global leader in vehicle lifecycle management, has announced a strategic partnership with PPG, a world leader in paints, coatings, and specialty materials. Through this collaboration, PPG’s premium automotive refinish brands—including NEXA AUTOCOLOR® and MAXMEYER®—will be integrated into Solera’s Sustainable Estimatics platform, enabling PPG customers to measure CO₂ emissions per repair. This assessment considers factors such as repair versus replacement methods, paint application processes, and drying conditions.

As part of the partnership, PPG will supply detailed product and process data to enhance the accuracy of CO₂ calculations beyond standard industry averages. Additionally, the integration of tools from the PPG LINQ™ digital ecosystem—such as PPG VISUALIZID™ digital color matching and the PPG MOONWALK® automated mixing system—will help body shops achieve more precise, efficient repairs while reducing material waste. The initiative underscores PPG’s continued focus on sustainability, digital innovation, and automation.

"The partnership with Solera marks an important milestone in our mission to deliver sustainably advantaged, digital, and automated solutions to our customers,” said Juan Navarro, Marketing Director EMEA at PPG. "By combining our trusted refinish products and digital solutions, we enable body shops to reduce waste, improve efficiency and monitor and lower their carbon footprint with precision.”

Under the current agreement, PPG’s emissions data will be integrated into the Solera ecosystem, equipping customers with a powerful tool to track and manage their Scope 1, 2, and 3 CO₂ emissions. The resulting dashboards deliver clear insights, enabling body shops to benchmark their environmental performance and produce reliable, verifiable emissions data in line with emerging regulations, including the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which requires emissions reporting starting in 2025.

Arnaud Agostini, International Managing Director at Solera, said, "PPG’s focus on combining sustainability with advanced digital and automated solutions adds significant value to our Sustainable Estimatics platform. With innovations like PPG MoonWalk automated paint mixing system and PPG VisualizID digital color visualization tool, we deliver precise CO₂ tracking and help body shops transform their daily operations. This strategic partnership ensures that repairers and insurers can rely on data that reflects the latest industry advances for more accurate reporting and a stronger competitive advantage.”
