The global machinery and plant engineering company Dürr is reinforcing its presence in Italy through the merger of its subsidiaries CPM S.p.A. and Olpidürr S.p.A., forming Dürr Systems Italy S.p.A. This merger brings together Dürr’s knowledge in final assembly and painting technologies into one brand, making operations more efficient and providing better value to customers in the automotive and industrial fields.

Effective December 1, 2025, Dürr has merged its Italian subsidiaries, Olpidürr S.p.A. and CPM S.p.A., renaming the combined entity Dürr Systems Italy S.p.A. Operating from two sites in Milan and Turin, the company will employ approximately 120 people and will be led by CEO Andreas Hohmann. The merger combines many years of knowledge in complete assembly systems with modern painting and pretreatment technologies, mainly for vehicle manufacturing.

“The new company name marks a reinforcement of Dürr’s presence and identity in Italy,’’ says Andreas Hohmann. “The merger strengthens our alignment with Dürr’s global strategy and ensures continuity and added value for all our customers.”

A Unified Portfolio to Enhance Customer Value

The merger will have no impact on existing contracts or service agreements. Instead, customers will benefit from an expanded service portfolio, innovative and sustainable solutions, and the simplicity of a single point of contact for all production requirements. Dürr Systems Italy will offer a unified portfolio covering consulting, planning, and implementation of assembly processes, as well as painting technology, pretreatment, and electrocoating systems. Dürr's advanced technologies, like the ProFleet automated guided vehicles (AGVs), are used by car makers around the world, allowing them to produce goods in a flexible and cost-effective way that

The streamlined organisational structure simplifies project coordination, reduces administrative complexity, and ensures consistency in customer relationships and service quality. Customers can rely on long-term support through preventive maintenance, technical assistance, and ongoing plant modernisation.

“We can offer our customers in the automotive and industry sectors a unique combination of expertise, comprehensive manufacturing solutions and reliability throughout the entire production cycle,” Hohmann summarizes.

Dürr also operates another subsidiary in Italy, Verind S.p.A., headquartered in Milan, which focuses on robotic and application technologies. Verind will continue to operate as an independent entity and brand within the Dürr Group. The company specialises in the development of industrial systems for application processes, ultrafiltration, and wastewater treatment, serving customers in the automotive and general industrial sectors. In addition, Verind serves as Dürr’s Center of Excellence for electronic dosing machines, offering extensive expertise, engineering capabilities, laboratories, and advanced technologies for the application of paints and coatings on a wide range of substrates, including metal, aluminium wheels, plastic, wood, ceramic, marble, composite materials, and glass.
